When do I gain Stars and Strikes?

  • Average Rating

    • Gain a Star: Average Rating ≥ 4.5
    • Lose a Star: Average Rating < 4.5
    • Gain a Strike: Average Rating < 4.0

    For a lesson in which the student doesn’t leave a rating, or the student is changed 24 hours before its scheduled start time and the student’s original rating is 4 or below, you’ll be granted an Average rating of 4.5.

    A 20-minute lesson counts as 0.5 of a 40-minute lesson with your Average Rating. This means two 20-minute lessons will have the same impact on your Average Rating as one 40-minute lesson.

  • Acceptance Rate

    • Gain a Star: Acceptance Rate ≥ 95%
    • Lose a Star: Acceptance Rate < 95%
    • Gain a Strike: Acceptance Rate < 70%

    Auto-declined lesson requests count as declined lessons for the purpose of this criteria. Lessons that are not accepted within 24 hours of a request being submitted will be automatically declined. Slots of auto-declined lessons cannot be reopened for another lesson request. For this reason, we recommend accepting or declining lessons at your earliest convenience.

  • No-Show

    • Gain a Star: 0 No-Shows
    • Gain a Strike: 1 No-Show
    • Gain a second Strike: 2 No-Shows
    • Gain a third Strike: 3 No-Shows

    For every No-Show, 3 promotion bonus points will be deducted from your account (see more in Promotion Points).

  • Last Minute Cancellation

    • Gain Star: 0 LMC
    • Lose Star: 1 LMC
    • Gain a Strike: 2 LMCs
    • Gain a second Strike: 3 LMCs
    • Gain a third Strike: 4 LMCs

    For every LMC, 2 promotion bonus points will be deducted from your account (see more in Promotion Points).

  • Cancellation

    • Gain a Star: 0 or 1 Cancellations
    • Lose a Star: 2 Cancellations or more
    • Gain a Strike: 3 Cancellations
    • Gain a second Strike: 4 Cancellations
    • Gain a third Strike: 5 Cancellations

    For every Cancellation, you'll also lose 1 Promotion Point (see more in Promotion Points).

  • Lateness

    • Gain a Star: 0 ~ 2 Latenesses
    • Lose a Star: 3 Latenesses or more
    • Gain a Strike: 4 Latenesses
    • Gain a second Strike: 5 Latenesses
    • Gain a third Strike: 6 Latenesses

    This statistic is calculated using the time at which you press the "Enter" button on the upcoming lesson, so it won't be impacted by the time Zoom opens.

    Note: If you're over 2 minutes late (for a 20-minute lesson) or 3 minutes late (for a 40-minute lesson) and your student has already left, this will count as a Tutor No-Show rather than Lateness.

  • Incomplete Feedback Report

    • Gain a Star: 0 Incomplete Feedback Reports
    • Lose a Star: 1 Incomplete Feedback Reports
    • Gain a Strike: 2 Incomplete Feedback Reports
    • Gain a second Strike: 3 Incomplete Feedback Reports
    • Gain a third Strike: 4 Incomplete Feedback Reports

    If a Feedback Report is left incomplete more than 48 hours after the lesson’s start time, you won't receive any pay for the lesson.

     

You can regain lost Stars and remove gained Strikes. The Star-Strike System awards Stars and/or Strikes on a rolling two-week basis, which means Averages, No-Show counts, etc. are all based on your last two weeks on Ringle; once you've lost a Star or gained a Strike, you'll be locked out of regaining it for two weeks.
